Use a gluten free flour recipe for all your gluten free baking.
There are times when we want to experiment with our own recipes and times when we just want to bake. So use these recipes below to bake your favourite cookies, cakes and breads.
Or maybe you want to find the right gluten free flour mix instead of measuring all the ingredients. Either way, these recipes and mixes will make it easier when you're in a hurry.
Buy your flour recipe components and mix together. Store them in a container with a list of ingredients. Just measure and scoop. This works for the Rice Flour recipe below.
Rice flour recipe:
- 6 cups Brown Rice flour finely grnd
- 2 cups Potato starch (not potato flr)
- 1 cup Tapioca Flour (starch)
For this recipe I mixed all the ingredients ,used what I needed and saved the rest.
Mix well and pour through a sieve a few times.
Can be used for most baking, this was used to make biscotti
Gluten Free Baking Tips
"White rice flour is gritty. Sorghum flour, aka jowar flour, is soft and slightly sweet and lovely in baking."
GF flour recipe:
- 4 cup brown rice flour
- 1 1/2 cup Sweet rice flour (at Asian markets)
- 1 cup tapioca starch flour
- 1 cup Rice polish (Ener-g food at health food stores)
- 1 tablespoon of Guar gum (health food stores)
Whisk all ingredients together. Make large batches and store in Ziplock bags in freezer. Can be used for Sandwich Buns / Pizza Shells / Cinnamon Rolls _________________________________________________________________
GF Flour Mix:
- 2 cups white rice flour
- 2/3 cup potato starch flour
- 1/3 cup tapioca flour
Combine and measure amount needed for recipes. Used for making bread.
